Mary Gilbert Palmer is a jewelry historian and a specialist in British Victorian jewelry, 20th-century American pieces, and small international antiques. She holds a Masters of Arts in History from Utah State University and trained in England at Sotheby's Institute. She has lectured in both America and Europe, traveled to Italy with the London Society for a seminar on the Jewels of Rome, and completed the Short Course: The Victorians, at the Victoria & Albert Museum. Palmer began collecting while her five children were still in school in Washington, DC. Family vacations in the English countryside showed her that she could buy from small antique fairs there and resell in DC. It started with a single card table in the driveway at her home and gradually grew to her current import business. She is now the resident Jewelry Historian at S.E Needham Jewelers in Historic Downtown Logan, Utah. The Mary Gilbert Palmer collection receives fresh inventory from frequent buying trips to Europe and is carefully selected piece by piece from antique and estate jewelry along with continental silver, vintage watches, diamonds and colored gems, costume jewelry, and one-of-a-kind small collectibles. Only a small portion of the inventory is shown online; the entire collection resides at the store. If you are looking for something in particular, please message us!
