Single-itis: What is it? What is the Cure?
More than ever before, Americans find themselves amidst the challenges of a raving pandemic. No, that is not a reference to the Covid-19 pandemic, but the precautions put in place to slow its seemingly ever-burning blaze certainly make this form of pandemic worse. We are referring to the true pandemic that is single-itis. This year a record high 50.2% of Americans are single. This percentage has skyrocketed
Single-itis: The condition of being single; experiencing feelings of loneliness; or the desire for companionship.
You may not be as immune from single-itis as you might think. Unfortunately, this sad condition touches all of us. Including the thirstiest of return missionaries.
Do you have Single-Itis? Take the self-diagnosing quiz below:
Have you experienced the following in the last year?
-Waiting for that special someone to follow you back on Instagram.
-Calling in sick after being left on read to an important confession of your love.
-You do things by yourself that usually require two people. For example, risking a hernia by moving a box you have no business of lifting to your new apartment BY YOURSELF. Or,
-Being the odd person in your group of friends. The designated 3rd wheel.
-You only own one of each utensil: one fork, one spoon, one knife. Do yourself a favor and visit the D.I. and get more, please!
-You eat ALONE at restaurants.
- You realize you are the only person eating alone at the restaurant.
-Your Snap-streak was violently ended after the other person had a "busy week." This is oftentimes accompanied by a confession from said other person that they binge-watched Ted Lasso for hours on end because "it was just SO GOOD!"
-You can eat ice cream straight from the container because why not?
